KSA’s Road to the Basketball Africa League: Group Draws for Elite 16 Announced
Kadji Sports Academy (KSA), Cameroon’s reigning basketball champions, are gearing up for the Elite 16 stage in the Basketball Africa League (BAL) qualifiers, set to be held from November 5-10, 2024, at the Treichville Sports Complex in Abidjan, Côte d’Ivoire. This stage brings together top teams from across Africa, with only the best moving on to BAL’s fifth season in 2025.
KSA’s Elite 16 Competition Group
KSA will compete in Group B of the West Division Elite 16, facing a lineup of challenging opponents:
Al Ahly Tripoli (Libya) – last year’s BAL runners-up
Barrolle (Liberia)
Spintex Knights (Ghana)
In Group A, Stade Malien, A.B.C., Chaux Sports, and Moanda Basketball will vie for a spot in BAL 2025. Only the top two teams from each group will qualify, making this stage especially competitive.
KSA’s Strong Start
KSA qualified for the Elite 16 by delivering an impressive performance in the Zone 4 qualifiers held in Douala, where they won three of their four games and claimed second place behind Chaux Sports. Their debut in the Elite 16 is a milestone for the team, which is looking to make a mark in Africa’s premier basketball league.
The Road Ahead
With four spots available, the Elite 16 qualifiers offer KSA an opportunity to secure a place in the Basketball Africa League’s 12-team field, slated to kick off in 2025. BAL’s last season saw Petro Luanda of Angola crowned champions in Rwanda, and KSA hopes to bring the title to Cameroon.
As anticipation builds, Cameroonian fans are rallying behind KSA, eager to see their team rise to the challenge and claim a spot among Africa’s basketball elite.
