Price Hike in Food Stuffs In Nigeria Blamed on Traders

The Federal Competition and Consumer Protection Commission (FCCPC) has pointed out that some traders forming cartels in markets across the country are behind the colossal increase in the price of food items in the country.

The Chief Executive Officer of the FCCPC was speaking in Lagos on Wednesday, September 11, 2024 while addressing leaders of market associations, transport operators and service providers in the course of a meeting.

Mr Bello disclosed that the meeting convened by his commission was triggered by startling discoveries made by the commission during a survey conducted nation wide.
